Almay deal at Walgreens - Updated!

I stopped by Walgreens last night to try out the Almay deal i had mentioned in my previous post..  It worked for the most part, but there a few things you should be aware of.   I could not find any Almay clearance left at Walgreens, but you may find it at your store. 

Here's what I got:

In Transaction #1:

• Almay face wipes $5.99
• Almay liquid lip balm in Blooming $5.49
• Used the $5 off 2 manufacturers coupon
• Used $2 off Walgreens Jan coupon book  X 2 (total of $4 off)
• Total paid:  $2.48 plus tax

In Transaction #2:

• Almay one coat mascara in blackest black $8.29
• Almay CC primer in Luminous $10.99- you don't see it here because I ended up returning it because Walgreens didn't apply the $2 coupon 
• Used the $5 off 2 manufacturers coupon
• Used $2 off Walgreens Jan coupon booklet X 1 
• Total paid:  $1.29 plus tax (this is because when they returned the primer, they returned the full price paid for it, not the price less the $5 coupon)

Now here's what you have to know:

• Looking at the Walgreens ad - the BOGO 50% should apply to Almay foundation, primer, concealer, blush, powder, and eye cosmetics (so does not include lip products)

• In Transaction #2, the $2 Walgreens coupon did not apply even though the coupon clearly says "on Almay cosmetics and makeup remover wipes" - I could have called a supervisor, but it was late and I just had the clerk return the primer - so watch for that!

• Remember that the BOGO 50% does not apply to clearance

• If you look at the new displays of makeup in the front, you can pick up the NEW Almay 2014 releases with this deal as well (that's where the CC Luminous primer was at)

I thought it was a decent deal even though it didn't quite go as smoothly as i wanted.
